Another Misrepresentation – Part 1

Several websites promoting the Great Global Friendship Run report that the run was to have begun on June 15, 2010 in Samoa.

This is not true. No run has begun. Stan Cottrell has not been to Samoa – he was in Canada last week, and in Georgia this week. This is yet another example of the many misrepresentations associated with Mr. Cottrell.

"A Master of Hyperbole"

From an email I received today.            **************************************************************************** Several months ago I met with a friend for lunch. Stan Cottrell called her while we were eating and wanted to speak with me.

I said hello to him and he began what can only be described as a rant. He started by stating that in no way was he ever going to hurt my friend. I found this quite strange since the question hadn’t been raised as to his sincerity.

He went on to say how he was “re-arranging his entire life” to be with my friend for the rest of his life. After a few minutes of trying to convince me he was a good guy, he started on a different rant. He began babbling about his intelligence and business prowess. He then began on the subject of religion.

I never believed the sordid stories he had told her about being a CIA agent (active and undercover) and a four star general….he had bragged to her about how important he was to our government. I found him to be a braggart, and a master of hyperbole to say the least.

Since then I have looked into his outrageous claims about his educational background and business background. The college he claims to have graduated from in Kentucky was not even a university ( 4 year) until the year he claims to have graduated with multiple bachelor’s degrees. The other university he claims to have graduated from with a master’s degree is an online school that appears to only offer bachelor’s degrees in a very few fields, that didn’t exist in the time he claims to have attended.

The business he currently claims to be president of is non-existent in Georgia according to the Secretary of State’s office. His non-profit corporation seems to be non-working and for the purpose to fund raising for the “event”, the Global Friendship Run.

This man is not trustworthy. His activities with the women that he has deceived and taken money from are criminal. Please make everyone aware of his true nature and intent so that no one is ever taken in again.

"Beware and Be Careful"

From an email to me from my mother-in-law, Peggy Smith.

I have known Stan Cottrell for 30 years and have seen him off and on only as a friend until a little over a year ago. He arrived on the scene this time saying his divorce papers were with the lawyers and he was giving everything to his wife.

In the past two days I have found five other women that he has told he is madly in love with, has taken money from, and wants to marry. I wish I had known this before he got involved with my family, and borrowed money from me.

He sent me hundreds of love emails and poems, told me he was a 4-star general, in the CIA, and flies an F-18 at a cost of $50,000 dollars a trip. He also told me that he had apartments in Washington DC, Kuala Lumpur, and all over the world. All lies!!

He made the mistake of having an affair with someone who could check on these things. I only live 40 minutes away from him. He would come over in his wife’s Lexus and say it was a government car. Anyway, I had him under surveillance and investigated. I found out more than I wanted to know.

If this pertains to anyone reading this, just beware and be careful! I just don’t want to see anyone else hurt the way so many of us have been.

Main Run Site Taken Down

There are numerous web and social networking sites promoting the Stan Cottrell run. The main site, contained multiple pages, with information about Mr Cottrell,  photographs and biographical information of those on the support team, and testimonials from prominent figures in the sports and business community. The site was up for some time and was up and running on July 24, 2010.

On July 25, 2010 all the content was removed.

I wonder why?
